[New York Times T Magazine Chinese Edition] The man who draws illustrations for fashion brands | dewi4d, rtp slotguru88

"I love London, and I also love English countryside like Yorkshire, because there I feel like I can travel across the vast world. These elements have a subtle yet strong emotional connection with Burberry." Topics: dewi4d, rtp slotguru88.

“I love mixing different things, including watercolors, chalks, oils, inks, crayons, etc.,” artist Luke Edward Hall says of his illustration work. The 26-year-old is an interior designer, fashion designer, and illustrator. After graduating from the menswear design major at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London in 2012, he not only ran the antique e-commerce company Fox and Flyte with two friends, but also worked for British interior designer Ben Pentreath, and founded his own studio in 2015. In Burberry's latest 2016 autumn and winter advertising, he created a series of new illustrations inspired by Burberry's autumn and winter clothing and advertising pictures taken by Mario Testino. This is also the first time Burberry has used artistic illustrations in advertising. "For me, this is an exciting collaboration. The Burberry brand and its ready-to-wear collections have always made me think a lot about fashion. Many years ago, I was very impressed by the menswear show inspired by the paintings of David Hockney, and the bright colors were very close to my heart."

Edward Hall, who was born and raised in the UK, works in everything from illustration to design, and all have a distinct and consistent personal style: solemn human form drawn from ancient Greek culture, emotional expression in British style, and bright colors like the Palm Springs sunshine. "I have always wanted to be an artist. When I was growing up in Basingstoke (a small town in Hampshire, England, England), I dreamed of going to London to go to art school, and it later came true. I first studied fashion design, and then interior design, photography, and fine art. I like to experiment, so now I do illustrations while doing fabric and ceramic design. Although I have dabbled in a lot, the essential aesthetics are actually the same."

For example, I first use chalk to color, and then use watercolor paint to create a professional painting effect. In an interview with the Deco8 blog last February, Edward Hall mentioned that his father once owned an English-style pub, and that pub, which was popular with locals, became one of his most important childhood memories. He would always go to the bar after school to wait for his mother to finish working. The comfortable space made him feel the British style reflected in the decoration, which was a dark style full of emotions: dark green, ocean blue, dark red, and leather and wood materials. Such rich emotions can also be seen in his paintings.

Mentioning his relationship with British culture, EdwardHall said: "For me, British culture is like a pocket-sized history book that inspires my creations all the time. The artists who have the greatest influence on me should be those artists, the British literary group Bloomsbury (including writers E.M. Forster and Virginia Woolf, etc.), the painter Duncan Grant, and their artistic spirit in the process of creation, decoration, painting, etc." In April, he also participated in the "Young" held by David Gill Gallery in London. Bright Things” exhibition, in which he presented a series of bowls and plates inspired by images of ancient Greek heroes. The name of this exhibition is quite similar to his favorite British literary group of the 1920s, Bright Young Things. This group was composed of a group of bohemian young aristocrats and celebrities, including artist Rex Whistler and photographer Ceciel Beaton. They often gathered together to hold gorgeous parties or night out in London.

“I’m from Basingstoke (where Burberry founder Thomas Burberry opened his first store), so I’ve known Burberry since I was a child. This is a brand with a unique British temperament. I personally like iconic items such as trench coats. They not only inherit the classic part, but also keep innovating with the times and are very avant-garde.”

On May 31, Burberry publicly released autumn and winter advertising images containing artistic illustrations by Edward Hall. The artist was also quite satisfied with his creation this time. At the same time, he was also working on the interior decoration of a Georgian country house in Kent, England, as well as several illustrations commissioned by individuals and commercial institutions, including the Parker Hotel in Palm Springs, California. The American Vogue website describes Edward Hall as "a 26-year-old prodigy of the world of interior design," but he's much more than that.
