Samsung denies that Note 7 fire in China is related to battery problem

Samsung: The Note 7 mobile phone fire in China has nothing to do with battery problems. External heat sources cause damage to NOTE 7 phones in China.

According to news on the evening of September 19th, Beijing time, Galaxy Note 7 battery supplier Amperex Technology Limited said on Monday that the recent explosion of Galaxy Note 7 smartphones in China has nothing to do with battery problems.

A Chinese netizen recently claimed that the coral blue version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 he bought on JD.com had a battery explosion and combustion accident during use. The user said that the phone was not charging when the accident occurred. The screen suddenly went black during use, and then the body shook. The phone exploded after being thrown aside.

New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. said today that after a joint investigation with Samsung, it was found that the cause of the explosion of this Galaxy Note 7 was not directly related to the battery. "Based on the traces of burning on the sample, we speculate that the heat source comes from outside the battery body. It is very likely that there are other external factors that cause the heating problem." In this regard, a Samsung spokesperson quoted a statement from New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and did not make further comments.

There are also reports today that after the first coral blue version of the Galaxy Note 7 exploded in China, another gold version of the National Bank Note 7 exploded.
