The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a statement on the 15th local time, announcing that it has decided to recall about 1 million Samsung Galaxy Note7 mobile phones in the U.S. market due to serious safety hazards in the batteries.
The committee said in a statement that day that the battery of the Note7 mobile phone has problems such as overheating and catching fire, posing serious safety risks to consumers. So far, this phone has received a total of 92 reports of battery overheating in the United States, including 25 reports of burning, and 55 reports involving property damage, such as causing fires in cars and garages. The Commission recommends that consumers immediately stop using the phone and shut down the phone.
Samsung America said in a statement on the same day that Samsung is working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to launch a voluntary mobile phone recall and replacement program. Consumers can enter the serial number of their mobile phone on Samsung's official website to check whether the mobile phone is within the scope of the recall.
