[2016 Asia CES] Robots are the darling of every exhibition

At least that‘s the case for tech shows.

Robots are the focus of attention no matter where they are at the exhibition. At the 2016 Asia CES, robots of various shapes and functions were still in every corner of the exhibition hall.

The only difference is that the robots at CES this year are no longer focused on impressing people with their appearance. More practical scenarios are reflected in the design of the robots. In other words, this year's robots are no longer obsessed with whether they have a "human shape". They can be hidden in various aspects of your life in various forms. They emphasize functionality and practicality, and are more closely integrated with life scenes.

1. iBao Children’s Robot

The children's robot market has long been targeted. The target users of iBao are children aged 3-8, and the company hopes that this robot will become an assistant to parents. It has the effect of accompanying children or remotely monitoring.

From a functional point of view, the functions that this product can achieve include: it can teach basic courses such as Chinese and math, and has a built-in database of 100,000 whys to help children answer questions. The built-in voice interaction system uses the natural language processing function of iFlytek.

The staff at the scene said that in the future scenario, parents and children are expected to avoid using touch screen operations as much as possible and use voice interaction more. In addition, parents can also monitor their children at home alone through their mobile phones.

In fact, functions such as teaching and voice interaction can basically be realized through tablets or learning computers, which are just covered with a "robot" shell. Perhaps for children, such a cute appearance design is more acceptable.

2. Home service robot

The series of home robots shown below are manufactured by a company called Ecovacs. Sweeping robots are already an acceptable product for many families. This company has more than a dozen product lines, covering floor cleaning, automatic window cleaning, air purification, robot housekeepers, etc. Trying to cover all aspects of home life.

Take the floor cleaning robot as an example. It is equipped with 6 sets of infrared sensors to prevent the robot from hitting cabinets; it can have a scheduled appointment function and automatically clean every day.

With so many product lines, I'm afraid Ecovacs needs a powerful smart home hub to manage these products.

3. Ming Robot

Looking at the appearance, it is difficult to connect it with a robot, because it looks like a mobile device added to the iPad. And just like the product introduction, it currently only supports iPad Air and iPad Air2.

RoboMing mainly provides intelligent office operations for small teams and provides video collaboration services anytime and anywhere.

The wheels are its most important component. According to the official introduction, it has a two-wheel self-balancing system with oversized hubs, which makes it walk more steadily and will not be easily pushed over.

However, this product is priced at 5,999 yuan on Taobao, and it is not yet known how sales will be.

4. Mobile robot cell phone RoBoHoN

The combination of mobile phone + robot is the feature of this product.

Faced with the fact that the smartphone market has entered a mature stage and is in need of new concept products, Sharp and Dentsu teamed up with world-renowned robotics expert Mr. Tomotaka Takahashi to develop a mobile robot phone: RoBoHoN.

To be more precise, it is more like a mobile phone.

RoBoHoN has all the basic functions of a normal smartphone, including phone calls, emails, cameras and other basic functions that are enabled by network access. RoBoHoN no longer uses the traditional touch interaction method of smartphones, but realizes interaction through dialogue between humans and machines.

Sharp believes that through this new interactive method, users can gradually build emotions with RoBoHoN, a feature that current smartphones cannot yet achieve.

But the problem is, if a mobile phone can achieve something, why must it be done by a robot?

5. Suitcase Robot

It just looks like a suitcase. However, the name of this company is "Kuwa Robot Co., Ltd.", and this product may be more appropriately called a smart luggage.

The smartest thing about this product is that it can follow people. Because the box is equipped with a C0-Eye sensor, and because the automatic following and automatic obstacle avoidance technology in the box belongs to the field of robotics, it can be called a robot.
